Our Story

Tucked into the quiet countryside just outside Sandpoint, Idaho, Opal Pine Acres is the kind of place where nature, animals, and mountain views are part of everyday life.

Guests are often greeted before they even reach the door usually by one of our curious peacocks who like to wander the property and welcome newcomers as if they’re part of the family. It’s just one of those little moments that lets people know they’ve arrived somewhere a bit different.

Our homestead is home to alpacas, pigs, sheep, chickens, peacocks, friendly barn cats, and often baby animals depending on the season. Guests are welcome to explore the property, meet the animals, and experience a little piece of farm life surrounded by the beauty of North Idaho.

Inside, the home is designed to be a comfortable place to relax after a day exploring Sandpoint and the surrounding area. Guests enjoy mountain views, a hot tub under the stars, a game room, and plenty of space to unwind. Some visitors spend their days out on Lake Pend Oreille, hiking local trails, or skiing at Schweitzer, while others are perfectly happy staying right here watching the animals, enjoying the quiet, and taking in the peaceful surroundings.

Opal Pine Acres is a place where simple moments tend to become the most memorable feeding alpacas, watching baby animals explore the pasture, or ending the day with a quiet evening under the open North Idaho sky.

We feel lucky to call this place home, and even luckier to share it with guests who come to experience it for themselves.
